Biography: RICHARD R. “RICK” LANGELAND
CANASTOTA- Richard R. “Rick” Langeland, 48, Getmac Avenue, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Albany Medical Center, Albany, where he had been a medical patient for the past five days, following an illness of two months.
Born in Johnson City, on July 5, 1973, he was the son of Richard R. Langeland and Denise Diack Mancini. A resident of Canastota for over twenty years, Rick was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School.
Rick had just begun employment with Jake’s Greenhouses in Wampsville and previously was employed with Owl Wire Company, Inc.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Canastota Post # 140, enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Surviving are a son, Hunter Langeland of Canastota; his mother and step-father, Denise and Thomas Mancini of Canastota; his father, Richard Langeland of Manhattan, Kansas; his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Mike Szymaniak of Manhattan, Kansas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM, Tuesday (2/1/22) from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 300 South Peterboro Street, Canastota, with the Rev. Anthony Tosti, officiating. Spring interment will be made in St. Agatha’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 2-4 PM, Tuesday.
