Biography:  ELVA LANDERS
MUNNSVILLE- Elva Landers, 90, formerly of East Hill Road and most recently of Macedon, died Monday, December 14, 2015 in Highland Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a medical patient.
Born in Munnsville, on July 31, 1925, she was the daughter of Almon Stewart and Camilla Stewart Sheldon. A resident of Munnsville for many years, moving to the Rochester area in 2008, Mrs. Landers was a graduate of Madison High School. She married Howard P. Landers, in Knoxboro, on November 10, 1945. Mr. Landers died on November 4, 1995.
Mrs. Landers assisted her husband in the operation of his business, Howard P. Landers Farm Machinery, from 1962 to 1979 as the bookkeeper, and also served for several years as the Village Clerk in Munnsville. She was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and John Gruber of Spring Hill, FL; her son, Gary Landers of Hilton; her daughter-in-law, Diane Landers Mitchell of Munnsville; her sister, Grovene Tiller of Oneida; her grandsons, Timothy Landers, Kyle Landers and Aaron Gruber; her two great-grandsons, Kody and Cory Landers; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Donald Landers, who was killed in action in Viet Nam, on March 28, 1968 and Bernard A. Landers, who died on September 11, 1987.
Funeral services and visitation will be held Monday afternoon, for family and close friends at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.  Interment will be made in Stockbridge Cemetery. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Munnsville Fire Department, Box 300, Munnsville, NY 13409.
