THERESA M. GRENIER
ONEIDA- Theresa M. Grenier, 87, of Lake Road, passed away on January 12, 2018, in Crouse Hospital where she was admitted the day before.
Born in Rome on May 28, 1930, she was the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Cervo Montana. A resident of Oneida since1987, coming from Buffalo and then Rome, she attended high school in Rome. Theresa married Joseph R. Grenier in Rome in 1950.
Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Herb Philipson’s and had previously been employed by Woolworth in both Buffalo and New Hartford. Theresa enjoyed cooking and canning foods of all kinds and knitting socks, mittens, hats and afghans for everyone. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church where she was very involved with their food pantry.
Surviving besides her husband Joe are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jannell Grenier of West Lyden and Kenneth and Kathy Grenier of Boonville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, one sister, Agnes Nickerson of Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Pamela A. Kehoe in 2013, a son, Bruce Grenier in 2014, four sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held 4PM Wednesday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida with Pastor Dan King, officiating. Spring interment will be made in Rome Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 2-4PM, prior to the funeral service. Contributions may be made to the New Life Assembly of God Food Pantry, 4704 State Street, Oneida, NY 13421 or to the ASPCA, Gift Processing Center, P.O.Box 96929, Washington D.C. 20077-7127.
