Biography: OLGA S. SONICH
FAYETTEVILLE- Olga S. Sonich, 95, of East Genesee Street, passed away on March 20, 2019, in the Extended Care Facility of the Oneida Healthcare Center, where she had been a resident for the past fifteen months.
Born in Lopez, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1923, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Anna Cochran Stechyshyn. A local resident for the past twenty-five years, Olga was educated in Pennsylvania. She married Joseph Sonich in Houston, Texas.
Prior to her retirement, Olga was self-employed as a drapery seamstress and had formerly been employed with Oneida Limited Silversmith’s.
Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Joan Sonich of VA, James and Judith Sonich of Clay and Judith Sonich of Nebraska; numerous grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie Taylor of Oneida and Betty Selby of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Cheryl Mautner, a son Donald Sonich and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1130 AM, March 30, 2019, from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.
