Biography: FRANK R. NEMETI, JR.
ONEIDA- Frank R. Nemeti, Jr., 89, Patio Circle Drive, died early Sunday morning, June 2, 2019, in the Extended Care Facility, where he had been a patient for the past three days.
Born in Syracuse, on December 19, 1929, he was the son of Frank R. and Margaret Pino Nemeti, Sr. A lifelong resident of Oneida, Frank was a graduate of Oneida High School, Le Moyne College, Class of 1953, and Syracuse University, College of Law in 1956. He married Joyce Erdige in St. Patrick’s Church on September 13, 1952. Mrs. Nemeti died on May 5, 2017.
Prior to his retirement in 1998, Frank was a practicing attorney and partner with the Santry, Nemeti and Mc Dermott Law Firm, having been admitted to the Bar to practice in 1957. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and a member of the Parish Council, a member and past-president of the Rotary Club of Oneida, the Knights of Columbus, E. Bart Hanifin Council # 473, a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Oneida Healthcare Center, past president of the Madison County Bar Association and a member of the Oneida Elks Lodge # 767 BPOE. He enjoyed his times at Oneida Lake and St. Simon’s Island, his seasons as a ticket holder of Syracuse football of which he was an avid fan, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals baseball and the Cleveland Browns football.
Surviving are his three daughters and sons-in-law, Kristine and Keith Brown of Buffalo, Gail and Ronald Habecker of Pittsford and Sharon and Robert Raymonda of Onondaga Hill; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lisa Nemeti of Oneida; and his eight grandchildren, Daniel Brown and Timothy Brown, James and his wife, Stephanie Habecker and Andrew Habecker, Elizabeth Raymonda and James Raymonda and Michael Nemeti and his wife, Sheri Coleman and Alexander Nemeti.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Friday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida and 12 Noon from St. Patrick’s Church, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Richard Kapral, pastor. Interment will be made in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 3-7 PM, Thursday.
